Press Conference Video
Apple has posted the Friday press conference online where CEO Steve Jobs spoke regarding the iPhone 4 antenna problem. Apple is now offering all iPhone 4 purchasers a free bumper to correct the dropped call problem. This offer is valid through September 30 and purchasers will be able to apply on the Apple.com website beginning late this next week. Watch the video of the press conference here.
iPhone 4 Antenna Test Results
Apple has also created a new Apple.com section, "Smartphone Antenna Performance: Understanding Attentuation and Signal Loss" (http://www.Apple.com/Antenna/) to address the iPhone 4 antenna issue even further. In true Steve Jobs fashion, the first page compares the iPhone 4 signal attentuation and reliability to the Blackberry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, Samsung Omnia II, and previous model iPhone 3GS. Yes, according to Apple, shown with graphics and videos, all these phones have the same attenuation issue or "problem" as the iPhone 4. Apple Antenna Design and Test Labs
That's not all - Apple and Steve Jobs are not done defending themselves and their efforts! An additional area within the new Apple.com Antenna section is about "Apple's Antenna Design and Test Labs". Apple states, " Apple has invested more than $100 million building its advanced antenna design and test labs. Our engineers have logged thousands of hours designing and testing iPhone 4 in these state-of-the-art facilities."
