Apple Unveils iOS 4.3
Apple Inc. announced the iPad 2 on March 2, 2011. Apple CEO and Co-Founder Steve Jobs, on medical leave since January 17, 2011, launched the iPad 2 as he has done with previous product roll outs. The iPad 2 launch and related event video below is reviewed in the previous post.
iOS 4.3 Scott Forstall, Senior Vice President of iOS Software, unveiled the new iOS 4.3 as seen in the video below, beginning at 29:38. Forstall opened, "So along with the new iPad 2, we're releasing the next version of iOS, iOS 4.3. 4.3 brings with it some great enhancements and some new features."

iOS 4.3 Features
* Significantly increased Safari performance: Mac OS 10 Nitro Javascript engine moved to iOS 4.3. Runs Javascript more than twice as fast as before.
* iTunes Home Sharing: Wi-Fi streaming from iTunes library (movies, music, TV shows, podcast, iBook) on your computer to iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
* Improved AirPlay: enables streaming of iOS device content (movies, music, photos) to HDTV via Apple TV with no configuration necessary. App Store apps and websites can AirPlay both audio and video.
* iPad Lock Switch: mute or rotation (portrait or landscape) lock on iPad slider switch.
* Personal HotSpot (iPhone 4 only): allows sharing 3G connection over Wi-Fi to other devices.
* Photo Booth for new cameras on iPad 2 allows new effects for both videos and photos.
* FaceTime video conferencing now supported on iPad 2 as with iPhone and iPod Touch. Can interact between iPad 2 and iPhone, iPod Touch, and/or a Mac. Both the front and back iPad 2 cameras can be used simultaneously on FaceTime (picture in picture).

Watch Apple unveil iPad 2 at a special event on March 2, 2011, in San Francisco. iPad 2 is thinner, lighter, and faster with two cameras for FaceTime video calls and HD video recording. Yet it still has the same 10-hour battery life.
