They Just Don't Get Apple! What is Apple TV?
A smaller, cheaper Apple TV was announced by CEO Steve Jobs at the Special Event on September 1. "Apple TV, which connects to a high-definition television and can show rented movies and TV shows from Apple's own service, plus content from Netflix, photos on Flickr, YouTube clips and more" per the AP. Though the new product line of iPods was covered more by the media along with the new iTunes and iOS, should Apple TV be yawned at? Apple changed the music industry with the iPod, the cell phone industry with the iPhone, and may now have started a new computing niche with the iPad. Given Apple's remarkable record of game-changing devices, will Apple TV change the cable TV industry or at least give competition to cable TV companies?
